About
Caitlin Purvis

Pilates for
every body.

Caitlin Purvis is a certified Pilates instructor and trauma-informed practitioner based on Granville Island. She is also certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy — bringing a rare depth of understanding to how the body holds stress, tension, and history.

Her approach is unhurried and attentive. Whether you are recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, rebuilding after a major life change, or simply wanting to move with more ease and strength — Caitlin meets you exactly where you are.

The studio was born from a belief that movement is medicine, and that everyone deserves access to thoughtful, personalized guidance. With a full suite of apparatus, a beautifully calm space, and small session sizes, every client receives the focused attention they deserve.

The studio is home to reformers, a cadillac, pilates chair, and a full wall unit — a complete apparatus environment that allows sessions to be as varied and specific as each client needs.

More than a workout.
A practice.

Pilates at this studio is not about perfecting a pose or pushing through pain. It is about building a relationship with your body — one of curiosity, respect, and steady progress.

"Pilates is more than a movement regime. Practicing the exercises regularly provides an opportunity for one to connect the body, mind and spirit. Benefits such as opening one's joints, finding greater strength, flexibility and balance, and improving one's breathing are common. Overall, Pilates can lead to more joy in one's life. We all deserve joy and we all deserve to feel good in our bodies." — Caitlin Purvis

The pillars of
this practice

01

Intentional movement

Every exercise has a purpose. Quality always over quantity — one mindful, well-executed repetition is worth more than ten rushed ones. Sessions are never filler.

02

Whole-person awareness

The body doesn't exist in isolation. Stress, sleep, emotion, and history all live in the tissues — and that is always honoured here. Caitlin's trauma-informed approach means your nervous system is part of the work.

03

Progress at your pace

There is no competition, no comparison. Just you, the apparatus, and steady, sustainable growth. Sessions are adapted continuously as your body changes and develops.

What to expect

01

Before you arrive

After booking through Jane, you'll receive a short intake form. This helps Caitlin understand your body, history, and goals before you even walk through the door. Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing — no shoes required in the studio.

02

Your first session

Your first session begins with a conversation. Caitlin will take time to understand how you move, where you hold tension, and what you're hoping to achieve. You'll be gently introduced to the apparatus at a pace that feels right for your body.

03

Ongoing sessions

Each session builds on the last. Caitlin tracks your progress and continuously adapts the work to challenge you appropriately. Most clients notice meaningful change in strength, posture, and how they feel day-to-day within the first few sessions.

Find the right
session for you

All sessions take place at the Granville Island studio using a full suite of apparatus. Book online through Jane App.
